Today I could not get Jamaica out of my head. Which isn’t really different from any other day since I’ve returned from my trip to the incredible country. The thing I love most about Jamaica? The people. They know that they don’t have very much and they struggle to make ends meet but they are so happy. They aren’t focused on material things, they care about relationships with others. The people I met inspired me to truly examine the way I live my life. From now on I will live with a mindset that what truly matters is being surrounded by people I love and who care about me and appreciating the moments that God has given me in this life. It doesn’t matter what I have or whether everything is going exactly the way I want it to. It doesn’t matter how much stuff I have or how popular I am or how many exciting things are happening in my life. It is better to live a simple life and keep the most important things and people close to you. If I choose to look at the positive side of every situation and I follow God’s path for my life, good things will come and I will be happy no matter what. Every single day I think about how amazing the people in Jamaica are. I pray that they will be filled with as much joy as they deserve. I can’t thank God enough for my opportunity to travel to Jamaica and meet the people I did. They have filled my heart with so much love and have shown me a deeper understanding of life.
